The Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI) is celebrating American Recycles Day and the 30th anniversary of the Steel Recycling Institute (SRI) during the 2018 Greenbuild Conference in Chicago on November 14-15.
SMDI and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) will exhibit at the conference in booth 415/514, showcasing the industry’s focus on sustainability and benefits for builders seeking green certifications for their projects.
Recycling and recyclability play a vital role in the sustainability of steel construction products, with 76 percent of steel, and 98 percent of structural steel recycled at end of life. During Greenbuild, experts from SMDI, SRI and AISC will be onsite and available to discuss steel’s role in green construction, the importance of recycling and how steel products can support builders’ efforts to earn LEEDv4 credits.
