JE Dunn begins high-profile cell manufacturing facility at Georgia Tech

JE Dunn Construction is building a nationally significant Cell Characterization and Manufacturing Research Facility in the Marcus Nanotechnology Building at Georgia Institute of Technology. The facility will support Georgia Tech’s activities in the development of therapeutic cell manufacturing technologies. In particular, it will focus on addressing key challenges identified by the National Cell Manufacturing Consortium, a collaboration of industry, government and academic institutions led by Georgia Tech, to advance cost-effective, large-scale production of human cells for therapies and diagnostics. 
The facility will serve as a resource to industry, government and academic institutions to
demonstrate proof of principle, proof of concept, and manufacturing feasibility of new
processes and technologies. The build-out of this Cell Characterization and
Manufacturing Research Facility is supported through a gift from the Marcus
Foundation.
The project involves the build-out of 4,000 square feet of cleanroom space—an
environment in which levels of airborne particles are strictly controlled—to support
research and accommodate related educational activities.
Project completion is scheduled for January 2018.
