S-5!, the global leader in metal roof attachment solutions, is taking a bold step to invest in tomorrow’s construction workforce. The company has launched the S-5! Scholarship, a new program designed to encourage and support students pursuing education in construction-related fields.

For more than three decades, S-5! has been known as an innovator—engineering attachment solutions for metal roofing systems that are trusted around the world. But founder and CEO Rob Haddock, innovation has never stopped at products. It extends to people. The launch of this scholarship is the latest example of S-5!’s vision to lead, serve and give back to the industry that has shaped its identity.

“Our industry only thrives when we continue to invest in those who will one day lead it,” Haddock says. “Supporting the education of future construction professionals aligns with our mission to be more than a manufacturer. This scholarship is an extension of our belief that knowledge and opportunity drive progress.”

Building leaders for tomorrow

The S-5! Scholarship will award $1,500 to a student enrolled in a construction-related program at a trade school, community college or university. It is open to a wide range of disciplines tied to the built environment, including project management, engineering, skilled trades, design, solar installation and other industry-aligned fields.

Applicants must be accepted to an accredited program, submit an online application, provide two letters of recommendation and commit to maintaining communication with S-5! throughout their academic journey. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2025, with selections reviewed by the S-5! Scholarship Committee.

For Haddock, the program is about more than financial support—it’s about building a pipeline of talent that will strengthen the construction industry for years to come. “We’re not just innovators in metal roofing and solar attachments. We’re dedicated to building a stronger, smarter and more sustainable construction workforce.”

A mission rooted in service and leadership

Since its founding in 1992, S-5! has made education a core part of its business. The company has long been involved in training, industry events and thought leadership, emphasizing not just what they make but the knowledge they share. The scholarship builds on that legacy, reinforcing S-5!’s role as an advocate for innovation, workforce development and long-term industry growth.

“At its heart, this initiative is about service,” Haddock said. “The construction industry has given us so much. This is our opportunity to give something back—not just to the industry, but to the individuals who will lead it into the future.”

That vision echoes throughout S-5!’s company culture. Beyond products, the firm has positioned itself as a catalyst for positive change and growth, impacting communities through leadership and charitable giving. The scholarship brings those values into sharper focus by directly empowering students on their career paths.

A long-term view of growth

The timing of the program reflects an industry facing both challenges and opportunities. From labor shortages to the increasing demand for sustainable solutions, construction needs a strong, skilled workforce more than ever. The scholarship represents a small but significant step toward meeting that need.

“We are excited to launch this program and help build a strong pipeline of talent entering the construction industry,” Haddock says. “It’s a meaningful way for us to give back while supporting those who will lead and shape the future of our field.”

By encouraging students to pursue their passions in construction, S-5! hopes to spark more innovation across every corner of the industry—from roofing and solar to design, engineering and project leadership.
