Walbridge, a leading full-service construction company, achieved an overall score of 60 for its 2024 EcoVadis sustainability assessment. This improved score places Walbridge in the top 35 percent of the 130,000 companies across the globe that have completed the assessment, and in the 90th percentile of large construction companies based in North America.
EcoVadis is a third-party global platform that helps businesses assess their sustainability commitments and performance across their global value chain. The EcoVadis
assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
“At Walbridge, sustainability is not just our responsibility, it’s a core value that drives our innovation and growth,” said Walbridge President John Rakolta III. “This assessment
demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and our leadership in implementing sustainable building practices. It’s a benchmark of our progress and a source of
motivation to strive for higher standards, ensuring that our team contributes positively to the environment and to the communities where we live and work.”
The company’s increased EcoVadis assessment is attributed to several initiatives, including having the proper internal framework to identify areas, and processes and
procedures for improvement as well as a leadership team that prioritizes sustainability.
EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
