Flozone Services Inc.’s water treatment system accounted for more than $50,000 in savings on utility costs for the Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland. Flozone’s technology also reduced water and sewer consumption at the casino by more than 5.3 million gallons, helping the casino, one of the largest in the country, make progress on its sustainability objectives.
The casino contracted through Innovative Mechanical in January 2016 to install its environmentally friendly Flozone Integrated Management System, which uses a nonchemical condenser water treatment protocol. The technology reduces water consumption and energy usage as well as eliminating hazardous chemicals associated with a traditional condenser water system.
“Since installing the Flozone IMS unit in January, we’ve experienced a more efficient and better- running HVAC system while seeing a significant reduction in utility bills,” said Brad Miller, Director of Facilities at Live! Casino & Hotel. “The Flozone system has well exceeded our expectations and has already paid for itself in the first year of operation.”
Among the measurable results of Live! Casino & Hotel installing Flozone’s technology in 2016:
- Energy savings: $9,697
- kWH consumption reduced: 161,618 kWH
- kW Demand reduced: 221 kW
- Water and sewer savings: $40,460
- Water and sewer consumption reduced: 5,316, 751 gallons
- Eliminated condenser water chemicals: 1,910 gallons
- Carbon footprint reduced: 111 metric tons
