Armistead Mechanical, Inc., a provider of mechanical construction, engineering and contracting services throughout the New Jersey/New York area, was proud to receive the 2016 Safety Excellence Award from the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA). Marking this the second time in three years that Armistead Mechanical has earned this distinction, the award was presented on March 8 during the MCAA Annual Convention in San Diego.
The MCAA/CNA Safety Excellence Award honors companies across the United States that demonstrate the highest level of commitment to, and execution of, safety strategies. CNA, the endorsed insurance carrier for MCAA, is the co-sponsor of this prestigious safety award program in the mechanical construction and service industry.
The awards program identifies, encourages and rewards exemplary professional safety. Armistead Mechanical was recognized in the 250,000-400,000 work hours level – the third of five tiered categories. Chris Byrne, Safety Coordinator for Armistead Mechanical, accepted the honor on the company’s behalf.
To be eligible for an MCAA/CNA Safety Excellence Award, companies must earn safety statistics exceeding the nationwide industry averages, as well as submit a written application detailing its safety program, including any innovative initiatives that helped it achieve such high degrees of safety. In recent years, the selection process has grown so competitive that additional phone interviews have been necessary to determine final award recipients.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of America serves the unique needs of approximately 2,600 firms involved in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, process piping, and mechanical service. The organization provides members with high-quality educational materials and programs to help them attain the highest level of managerial and technical expertise. MCAA includes the Mechanical Service Contractors of America, the Plumbing Contractors of America, the Manufacturer/Supplier Council, the Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation and the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau.
“Armistead Mechanical is incredibly proud of winning this competitive Safety Excellence Award for the second time in three years,” said Kevin Armistead, Chief Operating Officer of Armistead Mechanical. “Receiving recognition of our sustained commitment to the prevention of workplace injury and illness, and the well-being of our employees, is extremely gratifying and exemplifies our dedication to our personnel and partners.”
