GGI Announces Installation of New DX-3 Digital Printing Technology

GGI (General Glass International) has announced the enhancement of its manufacturing capabilities through the recent installation of new fabrication equipment. The company has integrated Dip-Tech’s DX-3 Series digital printer and a Ypsos Vertical Glass CNC into its facility, further solidifying its position as a leader in the glass fabrication industry.

The DX-3 digital glass printer, renowned for its exceptional quality and efficiency, heralds a new era for GGI’s esteemed Alice® direct-to-glass printing brand. Designed to cater to the discerning tastes of architects, designers, and the public art community, the DX-3 boasts a 12-color system, facilitating virtually limitless color configurations and swift color changeovers. This advancement not only optimizes productivity with its enhanced running speed and split conveyor system but also enables the utilization of

conductive and precious metal inks alongside traditional inks. With large format and high-resolution printing up to >2880 DPI, the DX-3 promises unparalleled precision and versatility.

“As the pioneer of direct-to-glass printing in the US, the integration of the DX-3 printer and the Ypsos Vertical Glass CNC underscores our unwavering dedication to technological advancement and superior service within the glass industry,” remarked Stephen Balik, Vice President of Business Development for GGI. “Our commitment translates into tangible benefits for both GGI and our clients, as we elevate our fabrication capabilities while also reducing lead times.”

Complementing the DX-3 printer, the Ypsos Vertical Glass CNC empowers GGI to execute intricate cuts, complex shapes, and flawless finishes with unmatched accuracy. With the ability to configure glass ranging from 2mm to 19mm, GGI’s focus primarily lies on 10mm and 12mm glass to cater to the high demand for custom heavy glass fabrication for a more diverse range of applications.

This expansion of services enables GGI to undertake a broader spectrum of projects, from bespoke interior designs to challenging architectural exteriors, without compromising on quality or precision.

David Balik, President and CEO of GGI, emphasized, “In alignment with our commitment to sustainability, both machines prioritize waste reduction and energy efficiency. This eco-conscious approach reflects our dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship, ensuring that our advanced fabrication processes contribute positively to sustainable building practices.”
