Westwood Contractors is positioning for growth with the addition of a new key senior executive. Grant Gongloff has joined Westwood Contractors as Senior Vice President and Division Manager of its new Charleston, SC office. In this role, Grant will work closely with the executive team to strengthen the firm’s presence in the retail, hospitality, and healthcare market sectors throughout the United States.
Mr. Gongloff brings more than 23 years of professional experience in commercial construction projects working for retailers, retail developers, airport/concessions consultants, and general contractors. His portfolio of work includes retail stores, restaurants, hospitality, entertainment, commercial/office, and historical renovations. .
Grant began his career in project management, transitioned to tenant coordination, and through his proven ability to succeed has achieved the role of Development Director for a global retail developer, and most recently, Director of Construction for a nationally recognized retailer. “Grant’s in-depth knowledge and ability to successfully apply insight from the perspective of each key project stakeholder, combined with his pragmatic approach to construction projects, provides a tremendous value to our clients,” said Mike McBride, President & Chief Operations Officer. “We believe our clients, and our team, will certainly benefit from the impact of his diverse expertise.”
As Senior Vice President and Division Manager, Grant’s primary responsibilities include establishing and managing our office in Charleston, SC, growing business throughout the firm’s target market segments, expanding market share with its existing client base, and contributing to the company’s overall growth. He will be a key member of the executive team working to develop goals, strategies, and objectives for the firm. Grant’s responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations of the division, business development, operational performance improvement, developing and managing client relationships, building relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, keeping abreast of regional factors and market conditions that impact the firm’s business, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring continued delivery of excellence in general contracting services.
Prior to joining Westwood Contractors, Grant served as Director of Construction for The Cato Corporation, a national ladies fashion apparel retailer with approximately 1,400 stores in its portfolio across the Southeast, South Central and Midwest regions. In that role, Grant oversaw the construction of retail store projects under the CATO, It’s Fashion, and Versona store banners.
