With fitness trends and fads changing almost daily– everybody’s fitness journey looks different. Today, fitness has become less about the physical and more about the integration of the mind and body. Because of this, when it comes to designing residential and multifamily spaces it’s vital to design with flexibility in mind, both for the individualized needs of residents, as well as evolving fitness sensibilities.
For the Urban Living Interiors group at Ankrom Moisan, rather than creating static environments, the team focuses on making spaces that have synergy and are interactive. They ensure residents have plenty of choices of where to go and what to do to help meet the wellness needs of all. These choices include smart mirrors for at-home online workouts, stairwells friendly to cardio-seeking residents with stretching stations, equipment lending libraries for out-of-home fitness pursuits, infrared saunas, roof deck opportunities for yoga or cross fit, and general flexible spaces to accommodate a range of wellness experiences.
