Atlanta claims 11th place on the list of America’s top cities that have seen a significant increase in the number of rich renters since 2015. In addition, it is the nation’s 18th hotspot for wealthy renters.
Here are the main highlights:
- Atlanta boasts an 119% increase in rich renters since 2015. Amid this spike, by 2020 the city had 9,185 high-income renter households – which makes up the biggest affluent renter community in Georgia.
- Although Georgia is among the most affordable states in the U.S., home prices increased by 50.3% in Atlanta in the past years. Thus, renting became much more attractive even for affluent people.
- Statewide, Augusta became the leader in all of Georgia amid the highest spike in high-income renters (175%). It is followed closely by Macon that saw a 164% increase in rich renters.
