Demolition of the Downtown Plaza in Sacramento, Calif., will begin in late July to make way for the Sacramento Kings‘ new arena. It will take about 10,000 truckloads to remove the mall’s remains. The outer shell and roof of the $477 million new facility are expected to be finished by the fall of 2015, and the arena is slated to open in time for the 2016 season of the National Basketball Association.
