Some US airports haven’t kept pace with the growth in air traffic and plan to spend billions of dollars to expand and upgrade. The Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah is in the middle of a $2.6 billion project, and New York’s LaGuardia Airport is about to embark on a $4.7 billion renovation. Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta will spend $6 billion and SkyHarbor International Airport in Phoenix will shell out $590 million in modernization efforts.
