U.S. Architectural Lighting, a leading American manufacturer of contemporary architectural lighting, introduces the QBIX Architectural Sconce Series that offers configurable optical options that tailor the light’s aesthetics and performance to fit a wide variety of applications. The QBIX is engineered to provide a unique combination of performance downward area lighting and field-adjustable upward architectural lighting, creating a dynamic interplay of light that enhances both setting and visibility.

Ideal for illuminating office buildings, hotels, shopping centers, entertainment complexes, and educational campuses, the QBIX Series includes the elegant square compact QBIX Compact (QBX-C) and a versatile rectangular QBIX Medium (QBX-M). The downward light effectively illuminates pathways, entrances, and patios, ensuring safety and visibility after dark.

With the new ALEDTM optical system the QBIX Architectural Sconce Series offers three versatile uplight illumination options, including Narrow-Spot, Medium. and Wide, each tuned to accentuate architectural features by adding depth and character to walls. The Narrow-Spot (14°) highlights narrow architectural elements like columns or recesses to provide a dramatic effect. The Medium (15° x 45°) asymmetric enhances the texture of the wall and creates a dramatic effect of light and shadows. The Wide (15° x 75°) option evenly illuminates a much wider area of wall to create a seamless and uniform area of light across multiple fixtures. The key feature of this uplight ALEDTM engine is its unique external adjustment. This feature enables multiple uplights positioned along your architecture, to have the beam angle tuned to your wall conditions to create a uniform aesthetic during the commissioning process, for the first time bringing the features of an architectural flood and graze fixture into a sconce
The QBIX features U.S. Architectural Lighting’s PLED™ engineered optical system in nine unique distributions, with an optional ambience lens for low glare and pedestrian scale heights. In asymmetric distributions, a micro-reflector inside the refractor redirects output towards the street side, maximizing usable light. Optional house-side shields are available to cover each optic. Panels are field replaceable and field rotatable in 90° increments.
The series is available in standard chromaticities of 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K. All standard LEDs have a minimum of 70 CRI. The QBIX Series accepts an input of 120-277V, 50/60Hz or 347V-480V, 50,60Hz with a 0 – 10V dimmable driver. Both ALEDTM and PLED® modules have a TM-21 L70 rated 50,000-hour performance life. The drivers are UL and cUL recognized and have a minimum operating temperature of -40°F/-40°C.
BABA compliant, the QBIX Wall Architectural Sconce Series, IP65-rated for wet locations, is crafted from highly durable and corrosion resistant A365 aluminum alloy with a low copper content of less than 0.2%, ensuring that the fixture maintains its structural integrity over time and minimizes the risk of corrosion.
