Top 6 Richest Places in New York State

As avid TV enthusiasts, we often come across pretty houses and beautiful neighborhoods shown in several shows and movies. I can’t speak for others but, sometimes I fantasize about how it would feel to live in one of those expensive places while enjoying my favorite shows using Spectrum TV App. Although New York State overall is quite expensive to live in, there are some places in the state that some people simply can’t afford.
Whenever anyone says New York, people immediately think of the city that never sleeps, the city of New York. Even though it is a largely populated city with very expensive apartments (even for renting), it isn’t the only city in the state. There are so many cities and towns all over the state and many of them have a huge price tag when it comes to houses. Here are some of the most expensive cities to live in New York State. The ranking is based on things like per capita income and population, etc.

  1. Bronxville, New York

Bronxville is not ‘the Bronx’ but, a village that is actually located in the town called Eastchester. It only has a population of approx. 6,000 however, it is one of the most expensive and historic suburban areas to live in the state of New York. It’s situated about 15 miles far from Manhattan with a per capita income of almost $89,000. You may have to pay anywhere from $8 hundred thousand to $5 million if you’re interested in buying a house here.

  1. Scarsdale, New York

Scarsdale is one of the most famously expensive towns in this state with an approximate population of 17,000. It has huge historic importance and is quite well-known as it has been featured and referenced in several movies, songs, and so on. The per capita income here is close to $89,000 as well. Due to its rich history and fame, a house here can cost you anywhere between $7 hundred thousand to a whopping $9 million.

  1. Matinecock, New York

Matinecock is actually a village that is part of the Town of Oyster Bay with a population of a little over 800. The per capita income of this place is approx. $93,000. This place was even named in the richest towns in the US in the 1990s. Since this place is known to be inhabited by some of the richest people in the US, it is no surprise that a house could cost somewhere between $8 hundred thousand to $5 million.

  1. Plandome, New York

Plandome is another village in the state of New York with a population of over 1,300 people. This place is located in North Hempstead, another famed place for rich residents to call home. The per capita income of this location is about $95,000. Many of the famed celebrities have taken up residence in this place over the years. This shouldn’t seem shocking that houses here cost about $1 million to $8 million.

  1. Sands Point, New York

Sands Point is actually located at the edge of the Cow Neck Peninsula of Long Island in New York. This place is also a part of North Hampstead with a population of approx. 2,600. It is a famous place because of being referenced in The Great Gatsby. It is also known to be a place where rich people who’d inherited their wealth from their families took up residence. The per capita income of this place is about $95,000 and you can purchase a house from $2 million to $ 24 million making it one of the top-most expensive places in the state.

  1. Centre Island, New York

Centre Island is also a part of The Oyster Bay town located on Long Island in New York state. It has a population of about 400 people. The famous musician Billy Joel called this place his home and with a per capita income of about $96,000, it is not surprising to know that houses here cost around $8 hundred thousand to $4 million.
A Word of Advice…
No matter where you live, one of the most important aspects to look out for is the availability of basic amenities like power, water, gas, and internet & cable service, etc. If I had to move to any of these places, I’d dial Spectrum’s phone number to find out if they offer their services there too. It is simply too much hassle to find a new internet and cable service provider, especially if you’ve found the one that’s perfect for you.
