The Winter Companies – Winter Construction and Winter Environmental – are being acquired by the Cleveland-based DiGeronimo Companies, combining their respective general contractor, construction management and environmental services into a $1 billion company. Winter will continue after Jan. 1, 2023, to operate under its name and current leadership as part of the DiGeronimo umbrella of companies.
“We have been partnering with DiGeronimo for five years. Over that time, we have seen the cultural fit and compatibility in how we operate our businesses,” said Winter CEO Brent Reid. “Recognizing that we share values – above all – and ambitions, Winter and DiGeronimo aim to accelerate growth and add more value for our people, our clients and our communities together.”
Established in Atlanta 60 years ago, Winter Construction has focused on the public and private sectors including education, government, hospitality, multifamily, commercial and adaptive reuse. Winter Environmental is an environmental contractor providing all types of abatement and remediation services. DiGeronimo, beginning with an excavating company in 1956, is today a vertically integrated contractor focused on demolition, civil/sitework and general contracting services.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to expand into the Southeast with Winter. They have the most important ingredient – great people including strong leadership,” said DiGeronimo Companies CEO Vic DiGeronimo, Jr. “Together we will accelerate our growth in existing and new markets – we are very excited about the future.”
