The Family Promise of Hudson County (FPHC) has recognized Urbahn Architects with its 2025 Mark the Moment Award during the third annual Mark the Moment: The Promise Awards event. The honor celebrates Urbahn’s leadership in sustainable community development and its contributions to New Jersey’s growth through civic and educational projects.
FPHC, a nonprofit under the Family Promise National network, supports families with children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Since its founding in 2018, the organization has helped stabilize more than 133 families—316 children and 167 adults—through rental assistance, shelter diversion and transitional housing services.
Urbahn was acknowledged for its pro-bono design of FPHC’s proposed headquarters and transitional housing at 3-5 Storms Avenue in Jersey City. “We recognized Urbahn for its role in sustainable community development,” says FPHC Board President Sr. Georgette Gavioli, SSJ.
The award coincides with Urbahn’s 80th anniversary. Recent Jersey City projects include the LEED Platinum-certified $59 million Municipal Services Center, BelovEd Charter High School and the expansion of BelovEd Charter Middle School. With more than $4 billion in active projects worldwide, Urbahn continues its mission of creating equitable, resilient communities.
