Teknion, a global leader in workplace furniture and design, is proud to introduce Ligna, a flexible, architecturally refined modular partitioning system designed to define and optimize open-plan office environments. Addressing the growing need for spaces that balance collaboration and focus, Ligna captures the depth and elegance of natural wood millwork in a system developed for ease of specification and scalability.
Rooted in a modular approach, Ligna reimagines traditional millwork through a contemporary lens. With its Flintwood finish options, the system delivers sophistication and tactile quality of custom carpentry without the complexity and lead times typically associated with bespoke fabrication. Floor-to-ceiling configurations, available in a wide range of widths and heights, allow Ligna to integrate seamlessly across diverse workplace environments. By offering a pre-engineered alternative to fully custom millwork, Ligna fills a unique niche in the architectural interiors landscape through merging premium materials with practical, specification-ready efficiency.

Designed as a series of flexible building blocks, Ligna empowers design teams to define space, activate underutilized areas, and create zones that promote connectivity while preserving quiet zones. Linear dividers, synchronized louvers, and integrated shelving introduce depth, visual interest, and functionality to the floor plan. Specialized modules, including the design-forward Louver screen and integrated Bookshelf components, provide a distinct architectural presence and practical functionality, allowing for countless configurations tailored to each space. Built to integrate with Teknion wall programs such as Altos, Optos, Focus, and Tek Vue, Ligna supports a variety of building conditions from drywall ceiling to drop ceilings and ensures precise alignment through integrated leveling.
“With Ligna, we’ve taken the craft of wood millwork and made it modular,” said Asa Sheikhi, Director of Design, Architectural Interiors, Teknion. “The system is designed to be as expressive as it is practical, giving workplaces a sense of structure, warmth, and tactility without overcomplicating the design.”
Available in 16 flintwood finishes and custom stains, with complementary options for louvers, shelving, and glass modules including clear, low-iron, and frosted glass, Ligna highlights the texture and character of natural wood in a modular, pre-fabricated system. Its design simplifies specification and installation, reduces construction waste, and allows for flexible, repeatable configurations. Originally developed as a fully custom solution, Ligna now delivers a complete system that preserves the craftsmanship and premium feel of bespoke millwork.
