Hoar Program Management (HPM) has hired Steve Olson as senior vice president of the Western Region based in Dallas.
Olson will lead the teams in Texas and Oklahoma building on his experience and relationships in those markets and focusing on the expansion of HPM’s presence in the West.
Olson has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry and proven success in client relations and helping employees reach their potential. He most recently served as president of Balfour Beatty Construction, North Texas Division. Prior to that, he was president of The Boldt Company, Southern Region, based in Oklahoma City.
“Steve has experience in commercial, industrial, public and private markets, along with a builder’s background. His passion for developing and leading high performing teams, strategic planning and execution, business development, operational excellence and lean construction is a great fit with our strategy to grow HPM’s Western Region,” said Mike Lanier, president of HPM.
As an established “doer-seller” in the industry, Olson’s responsibilities will include building on the resources of the company’s recently acquired CCM Consulting Group – which now operates as HPM’s Auditing and Consulting Services. A newly-formed business unit of the company led by Vince Chapman and Ryan Austin from the HPM Dallas office, HPM’s Audit and Consulting Services provides construction project auditing for owners and has reviewed billions of contracts since its beginning in 1992.
An Illinois native, Steve received his civil engineering degree from Bradley University and has completed multiple courses toward an MBA. He serves as an elected member of the 2016 board of directors for the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce, as well as serving as co-chair for its senior executive briefing committee. He was previously active in the Oklahoma City community as a member of the board of advisors for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership OKC.
