The New York Chapter of Professional Women in Construction (PWC NY) announces the launch of its 2024-2025 Scholarship Program. Submissions are due by March 31st and the recipients will be notified in early May. The PWC NY Scholarship Program will recognize six students pursuing a degree in the AEC industry with a one-time $2500 award each, to be provided directly to their college or university toward the cost of tuition. The scholarship is open to female, full-time graduate students or rising seniors in an undergraduate program in New York City at the start of the 2024 fall semester.
PWC is a nonprofit organization that supports and connects career-minded women and works to promote diversity within the architecture, engineering, construction and related industries. New York is the founding chapter of PWC, established in 1980 by eight women who banded together to support each other in advancing their careers and businesses in typically male-dominated fields. That vision is still at the core of PWC’s mission as they actively engage members through committees and activities structured to provide leadership opportunities, networking and professional development. The PWC Scholarship Program was created in honor of Founder and Past President Lenore Janis to encourage and support the next generation of women in AEC.women today in construction and related fields,” says Regina Rivera, Executive Director of PWC NY. “We can provide guidance and resources to help them on their way to a successful career.”
