Grand Pacific Palisades Resort in Carlsbad, Calif. is starting an expansion project next year. A new hotel will add 71 guest rooms and 36 time-share units, bringing the resort’s total number of rooms to nearly 800. The project, which is on a 3.7-acre site near Legoland, will require the removal of a water tank. Precautions are being taken during construction to prevent any damage to cultural artifacts.
