Prime Retail Services is helping its national sporting goods retailer client to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California’s additional building code requirements in several of its retail outlets within the California market.
For the locations of the project already completed, Prime has provided services such as ADA restroom remodels and exterior ADA barrier removal, including path of travel slope compliance and correcting egress, signage and striping. Prime’s teams have worked so far in 10 to 15 locations, and the projects, on average, take two to three weeks to complete.
The ADA was originally passed in 1990 and provides, in part, regulations needful to guide businesses toward ways to provide for the full and equal enjoyment by those with disabilities of the goods, services, facilities, or accommodations of any place of public accommodation. California’s additional, more stringent requirements are contained within its current California Building Code, effective January 1, 2011.
Prime Retail Services has been in business since 2003 and provides retail construction, fixture installation, merchandising, graphics installation and millwork to multi-site retailers nationwide.
