Premier, an end-to-end architecture, design, procurement, project management, and development firm, is pleased to announce the newest addition to its growing architecture team. Aimee Sanborn, AIA, NCARB, has assumed the role of Senior Vice President, of Adaptive Reuse & Mixed Use, Premier, spearheading the company’s expansion into the adaptive reuse and mixed-use segments nationally.
The move supports Premier’s commitment to supporting developers and existing building owners with the redevelopment of underperforming assets. The Dallas-based firm is committed to contributing to the economic viability of reusing existing assets and the efficient use of resources and capital, providing a higher return on investment for owners. In her new role, Sanborn will capitalize on her extensive architecture and planning experience as well as her expertise in adaptive reuse, historic preservation, and LEED coordination.
In addition to valuing the cost efficiency associated with adaptive reuse, Premier adheres to the value of these developments, especially sustainability and urban revitalization that contribute to the improvement and growth of cities while preserving their unique character. “Redeveloping underperforming assets can revitalize urban areas and contribute to a city’s economic and social growth,” said Sanborn. “I’m excited at the prospect of enhancing the overall appeal of downtowns and also helping to preserve a city’s heritage by maintaining a sense of continuity in the urban landscape.”
Sanborn’s portfolio consists of a wide spectrum of projects, including high-rise multifamily, luxury residential, hospitality, speculative office spaces, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and industrial sectors. Her prior experience resulted in the creation of new developments that stimulate economic growth through the incorporation of multiple revenue-generating elements for these projects.
“Aimee’s ability to conceive adaptive reuse and mixed-use structures aligns with contemporary demands from the commercial real estate market,” said Franklin Piñerúa, Chief Commercial Officer of Premier. “We’re thrilled by the prospect of her creative and innovative solutions to meet evolving needs, such as transforming old structures into appealing residential or hospitality spaces, while also maximizing land use and addressing space constraints.”
Throughout her professional tenure, Sanborn has exemplified a rich background in both architecture and business development. Before joining Premier, Sanborn served as a principal architect of Powers Brown Architecture. Prior to that, she held pivotal roles as principal, shareholder, and team leader at Merriman Anderson Architects. She earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of South Florida.
