Nike will pare down its stable of retailers to about 40 and focus on direct-to-consumer sales in the next few years as the market grows increasingly competitive, executives said Wednesday. The brand plans to continue longstanding relationships with retailers, including Nordstrom and Foot Locker, as well as new partnerships with Amazon and other e-commerce players.
