This news comes at an exciting time for Nemo Tile + Stone, which newly opened its state-of-the-art Nemo Slab Collection Gallery in Lyndhurst, NJ. In recent years, the brand has strategically expanded its footprint with many new ventures, including the acquisition of two distinguished surface companies, Tile Market of Delaware and Design and Direct Source, the expansion of the brand’s stone program, and the enhancement of sales capabilities through the recruitment of top talents, all resulting in a culture of evolution and success. These efforts underscore Nemo’s commitment to providing customers with unparalleled project solutions, from selection to installation.

The appointment of Silano will allow Matthew Karlin, CEO of The Nemo Group, to focus on prioritizing new growth opportunities, continued acquisition exploration, strengthening Nemo’s high-value supplier relationships, and providing strategic oversight of the company. With Silano’s leadership, Nemo Tile + Stone will have a dedicated president poised to balance the brand’s various divisions, reinforcing the brand’s customer-first approach and ensuring clients have access to innovative design solutions.

“I am confident that Ron’s extensive experience and proven success make him uniquely qualified to elevate Nemo Tile + Stone to new heights,” says Karlin. “In the months leading up to this announcement, I have had the pleasure of getting to know Ron both professionally and personally, and I truly believe he will be an excellent fit for our company culture.”

Silano brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role, with extensive expertise in architecture and design sales, distribution, stone fabrication, and wholesale operations. Prior to joining Nemo Tile + Stone, he was the Co-Founder of The Stone Project. His impressive career also includes 15 years as one of the leaders of Stone Source LLC in New York City and served as the Northeast Regional Manager at FlorGres (now Florim Spa). His deep industry knowledge and customer-centric approach will drive Nemo forward in delivering tailored solutions that empower clients to execute their vision with confidence.
