NELSON New VP, National Leader in Retail Practice

NELSON Worldwide, award-winning architecture, design, and strategy firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Sean McCorry as Vice President, National Business Leader in the Retail Practice. Sean will lead the firm’s retail efforts nationwide, bringing over 25 years of experience managing global retail concepts and delivering premium brand concepts with a return on investment. Sean’s addition highlights the firm’s continued commitment to creating transformative environments and providing unparalleled client service.

“Sean brings a vast global perspective that will help shape a new era for our growing retail studio,” says Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NELSON Worldwide, John “Ozzie” Nelson, Jr. “I look forward to Sean expanding our project portfolio while focusing on a process-driven approach to design to deliver on strategy and meet client needs.”

Sean will work closely with leadership and junior staff to improve architectural and design practices within the retail studio. In addition to mentoring throughout the design process, he will also help simplify architecture and design processes that cause a time burden on team members. Sean will oversee projects from start to finish while also educating architects and designers on the business side of the industry to strengthen client relationships.

“After working on projects across six continents, I’m thrilled to call NELSON Worldwide home,” says Sean McCorry. “I’ve always admired the firm from afar, but I couldn’t think of a better time to join with the current reshaping of the retail landscape. NELSON Worldwide will allow me to mentor creative designers and align on their conceptual thinking, ensuring their projects are brought to life in an authentic and brand-relevant manner.

Prior to joining NELSON Worldwide, Sean served as Director of Global Store Environments for Timberland, where he oversaw both design initiatives and projects in supporting growth of both Global Retail and Wholesale environments by delivering 200-plus environments annually. Sean also oversaw Timberland’s  retail presence in EMEA that included store design implementation, build outs, fixture manufacturing and prototyping for owned stores, franchises and distributors. In addition, Sean has won multiple A.R.E, VMSD, and SHOP! awards.
