There are billions of dollars worth of port projects underway or being planned in Texas thanks to the Eagle Ford drilling boom. Among them are Cheniere Energy‘s proposed $10 billion gas liquefaction plant and the $1.3 billion plant being built by China’s Tianjin Pipe. Non-oil-related companies also are building. M&G Group has plans for a $1.3 billion PET resin plant, which is in the permitting stages, and Austria’s Voestalpine has proposed a $700 million iron ore importation plant.
