Looking at 30 top US markets, we set out to uncover how industrial real estate has evolved over the past 10 years alongside the rise of e-commerce to the forefront of global trade. The study was conducted in collaboration with commercial property data and listings platform CommercialEdge.
Here are some key highlights:
- In Atlanta, the total space added to the market since 2012 adds up to 86.6 million square feet – placing the metro 5th on the list;
- In 2016, metro Atlanta registered a regional all-time high in yearly deliveries of 15.3 million square feet;
- Atlanta’s sales volume reached around $3.2 billion in 2021, more than double compared to the $883 million recorded in 2012;
- Metro Atlanta logged the 10th largest completion in the last 10 years, with the 2.5-million-square-foot 2255 West Park Place Blvd facility in Stone Mountain, GA;
- Overall, the top of the list was dominated by Dallas and Inland Empire, which added around 208 million and 180 million square feet of new industrial space, respectively.
