Asian cuisine is the third most popular menu segment in the U.S., which boasts 64,000 Asian eateries that gross about $25 billion annually, but only about 6 percent are operated by chains, according to a study from CHD Expert. Some 84 percent of Asian eateries are sit-down restaurants, the study found, and the category covers a wide variety of cuisines including Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Korean.
