MGAC Opens Australian Office

MGAC, a global boutique project and cost management consultancy, has expanded to Australia with the launch of a new office in Melbourne. Led by John Cox, Senior Director, the team will serve the project needs of building owners, investors, and developers across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The opening marks the 11th office for MGAC and expands the firm’s office footprint to three continents.

MGAC’s Australian team combines deep regional expertise with the intellectual capital and strength of the global boutique. As Australia continues to realise a more connected, more sustainable, and more innovative future, MGAC will grow its presence in project management, cost consultancy and project controls, technology solutions, and procurement expertise. The team’s experience includes high-rise office and residential, public sector, education, historic refurbishment, critical infrastructure, transportation projects, and specialist construction and development services.

“Australia is a natural next step in meeting our client needs, wherever they may exist,” said Mark Anderson, President and Chief Executive Officer, MGAC. “Melbourne is one of the world’s most vibrant, livable, and forward-thinking cities, aligning perfectly with our profile client’s requirements and needs. Our Melbourne team is a group of respected leaders we are proud to add as colleagues and MGAC team members.”

The MGAC Melbourne office is currently engaged on projects including the Melbourne Walk, a once in a generation hotel and retail hospitality precinct and the first new development on the Bourke Street Mall in over 50 years; 600 Collins Street, a 85,000 m2 Premium Grade commercial office tower that will be technology driven, sustainable, and highly amenitised; VerSo Place, a modern retirement community in Vermont South, offering independent living, nature, and community; and the Gurner Group’s 424 St Kilda Road, an ultra-luxury mixed-use development integrated with the St Haven private wellness club.

“Our Melbourne team is in lock-step with MGAC’s culture of collaboration and client-focused delivery,” said Cox. “Our decades of experience in Australia’s built environment will provide a strong foundation for growth for MGAC, while the firm’s extensive resources and range of expertise will help our clients achieve exceptional outcomes for each of their project goals.”
