Toro Development Company (“TDC”), an Atlanta-based mixed-use real estate firm, today announced the official groundbreaking of Medley, the $560 million, 43-acre mixed-use community in Johns Creek, an affluent suburb of Atlanta. This latest milestone paves the way for the Medley’s grand opening on October 29, 2026.
“When we first set our sights on this dead, suburban office park, we saw an opportunity to create something truly special: a ‘Third Place’ where people can come together and experience life outside of home and work,” said Mark Toro, TDC’s Chief Vision Officer. “Similar to bringing Avalon to life from the rubble of a long abandoned project, Medley will rise from a sea of empty buildings to become the walkable, urban oasis the Johns Creek community deserves.”
Located at the corner of McGinnis Ferry Road and Johns Creek Parkway, Medley will encompass 150,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, a 175-key boutique hotel, 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office, 750 multifamily residences, 133 townhomes built by Empire Communities, and an activated 25,000-square-foot Plaza. TDC will infuse its signature approach to resort-style hospitality, entertainment and community building at Medley, which includes hosting approximately 200 events per year, ranging from outdoor wellness classes and live music to art festivals and watch parties.
TDC has already generated significant momentum for Medley, including lining up more than 25 best-in-class brands and razing a 350,000-square-foot office building to prepare the site for groundbreaking. Despite a frigid lending environment, TDC secured financing for the project in November 2024. The deal includes an equity investment from Ascentris, a Denver-based real estate private equity firm, and a $158 million construction loan from Banco Inbursa for the first phase.

“A Johns Creek town center was once considered little more than a dream,” said Mayor John Bradberry. “With Boston Scientific almost complete, Creekside Park construction in full swing, and now the official launch of Medley as the premium mixed-use linchpin, our town center is quickly becoming a reality. I’m looking forward to enjoying all that Medley will have to offer with friends and family.”
