MCS Names Marin Ursu Chief Information Officer

MCS (or the “Company”), the national property services company founded in 1986, announced today it has hired seasoned real estate and financial services veteran Marin Ursu as its Chief Information Officer (“CIO”). Mr. Ursu brings nearly two decades of transformative IT leadership to MCS as the firm continues a steady growth trajectory driven, in part, by a software suite designed to provide high-impact business solutions to meet corporate and field service goals. He replaces Mike Housewright, the existing CIO, as he enters retirement after five years at MCS. Mr. Ursu reports directly to Craig Torrance, CEO of MCS, and serves on the Company’s Executive Team.

“Marin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the already robust technology offerings at MCS and I’m excited to welcome him to the team,” said Mr. Torrance. “We have embarked on a journey of growth that requires a steadfast commitment to building out the next generation of unified technology solutions to maximize our role in creating efficiencies and improving service delivery across the property preservation, residential rental and commercial services industries.”

Throughout his career, Mr. Ursu has implemented proactive process improvement philosophies to deliver quantifiable results. Prior to joining MCS, he was Managing Partner and CIO at Arizona-based QuantumRhino and was Vice President, Applications and Development at Meritage Homes, also in Arizona. In each case, Mr. Ursu led transformative programs to streamline technologies and standardize processes.

“I was drawn to MCS’s forward-thinking vision and commitment to future-proofing the important technology-driven processes that add value to field teams and our clients,” said Mr. Ursu. “MCS already has a robust suite of technologies to serve its employees, service partners and clients. I’m thrilled to lead the company’s efforts in that space while enhancing its technology and creating a unified platform to make it easy for MCS to pivot quickly as its industry-leading technology structure evolves.”

MCS offers a flexible suite of property technology solutions tailored to the specific needs of each business line and client to maximize efficiencies and enhance transparency. Its suite of technology has a demonstrated track record of code compliance achievement in highly-regulated environments as well as end-to-end visibility into the progress of every job with a mobile app that provides pinpoint accuracy with GPS-enabled oversight. From the bidding process for work orders to identifying and managing service providers, Mr. Ursu will translate his experience into propelling the Company’s technology strategy and platform for customized solutions as MCS continues to evolve.
