MBH Architects, leaders in award-winning architecture for the multi-family residential, mixed use, commercial and retail markets, is excited to announce the addition of Project Architect Taylor Fahmi to its Housing Studio. Fahmi brings along a passion for creating functional and accessible housing developments that benefit their surrounding communities and inhabitants within the San Francisco Bay Area. Fahmi joined the MBH Architects team this past January.
“We are thrilled to have Taylor join our team,” says Founding Principal John McNulty. “She has a wonderful presence about her, thoughtful and decisive, with a special charisma that generates an optimism and an attitude of accomplishment that permeates her team. Taylor is a key piece of our future.”
Fahmi has over 20 years of experience in the housing design and construction world. She strongly believes that creating affordable housing is the crucial component of the overall housing solution in the Bay Area. “I’m excited to join the talented MBH team,” says Fahmi. “All of the stakeholders in the housing industry must do their part to address access to affordable housing. That applies to developers, builders, architects, engineers, and government officials.”
As project architect for the firm, Fahmi will manage projects from design through construction, building relationships as well as fostering a sense of teamwork and shared goals with clients and peers alike. An adamant supporter of collaboration, Fahmi excels at integrating the needs of diverse parties and creating friendly and beneficial relationships for all, from city officials and neighbors to developers, engineers, and contractors.
Fahmi was an integral part of Christiani Johnson Architects (CJA), managing multi-family housing projects, including market rate and affordable townhomes and flats, as well as mixed-use urban infill developments. In 2018, CJA was fully integrated under the MBH umbrella, at a time when MBH had recently been awarded several large and prestigious new housing and mixed-use projects, creating a demand for additional tenured architects within the firm’s Housing Studio.
