Matern Professional Engineering is pleased to announce the promotion of Austin Podurgiel, EI, to Project Manager within the company’s Commercial Division. This promotion recognizes Podurgiel’s significant contributions to the firm and his extensive experience in mechanical systems design.
Podurgiel brings over eight years of experience to his new role, having worked with clients across diverse sectors, including municipal, community, higher education, commercial, and healthcare. He is an expert in mechanical systems design with a successful record on projects involving HVAC systems, central energy plants, energy management systems, and building automation. His skills include managing RFIs, conducting field inspections, reviewing shop drawings, and creating as-built drawings.

Podurgiel is a registered Engineering Intern and an active member of the Central Florida chapter of ASHRAE. He holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Central Florida and is currently pursuing his Professional Engineer license. His prior experience includes projects for USP and retail pharmacies, cGMP manufacturing facilities, VA facilities, and innovative projects like an indoor vertical farming facility. He is also proficient in industry-leading design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
