Matern Professional Engineering is proud to announce the promotion of mechanical engineer Dorian Maness to Senior Project Manager. Maness has over seven years of project experience in K-12 and higher education mechanical systems design, as well as municipal, healthcare, and other commercial project experience. He is currently working in the company’s Education Division.
Maness is a certified Green Globes Professional and is intimately familiar with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Florida Green Building Coalition certification processes. He is well-versed in coordinating engineering disciplines for complex projects and focuses on energy conservation and mechanical advantages that save energy costs while designing for clients’ needs. Maness has designed various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, conducted energy load calculations and mechanical equipment selections, and central energy plant (CEP) design projects.
“Dorian is known for always being up to the challenge of analyzing and designing an efficient and tailored design solution for our clients,” said Matern Professional Engineering President, Ryan Strandquest. “We are proud to promote him, and his expertise in project management and mechanical engineering benefits our clients in Florida.”
Maness has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a specialty in mechanical systems from the University of Central Florida. He is a member of the Central Florida chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association (FEFPA). Maness also mentors new mechanical engineering staff and summer interns at Matern Professional Engineering.
“I am thrilled to enhance my contributions to Matern Professional Engineering and our clients’ success,” said Maness. “I look forward to continuing to advocate for project management best practices and providing exceptional results drawing on the extensive experience of both myself and our team.”
