Matern Professional Engineering is proud to welcome electrical engineer Olivia Byrd amid the company’s ongoing expansion efforts. Byrd brings over five years of experience in power distribution, lighting design and protection, fire alarm systems, grounding design, and project coordination to the company. She is currently working in the company’s Aviation Department.
Byrd has previously worked for major engineering firms in the South and Southeast, collaborating with clients in the healthcare sector to solve their electrical needs. Her experience also entails electrical utilities planning in both urban and rural settings, preparing specifications, as well as the design and implementation of various fire alarm systems.

Byrd has her degree from the University of Alabama, in electrical engineering. While studying at Alabama, she was a member of the Society for Women Engineers. Byrd is fluent in Spanish. She hold an Engineer Intern (EI) certification, and is a member of AEC Power Women.
