Matern Professional Engineering is pleased to welcome Senior Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer Mike Murphy, PE, LEED AP. Murphy is a registered Professional Engineer with two decades of experience in the design and construction of mechanical systems. His experience includes high-rise office and hotel buildings, central energy plants, tenant fit-out projects, and everything in between. He has performed all aspects of HVAC design and is fully proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer within the Commercial Group at Matern Professional Engineering, he oversees all facets of mechanical engineering, which includes equipment selection, ductwork, air distribution, piping, and controls.
“We are excited to welcome Mike to our Commercial Division,” said Matern Professional Engineering Commercial Division Director Bradley Pascarella, PE. “His experience working on significant projects, such as the Plaza Coral Gables near Miami, FL, as lead mechanical engineer, will be an asset to our clients as we continue to deliver on complex projects.”
Mike’s professional experience includes working with a mechanical contractor. He has diverse project experience across numerous market sectors, including but not limited to hospitality, commercial, local government, and education projects. Some notable projects include the Marriott Grande Vista Golf Club building renovation, the Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired, Universal Studios Beijing, Plaza Coral Gables, Disney Springs, the University of Florida Research and Academic Center – Lake Nona, and more.

Murphy is a registered mechanical engineer in the state of Florida and a LEED-accredited professional. He earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
