Line-Scape, a technology leader in underground utility safety and underground visualization, announced a groundbreaking partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to enhance public and contractor safety around Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDs).

By leveraging Line-Scape’s proprietary technology and integration capabilities with state 811 systems, the new service delivers targeted alerts to ensure contractors are aware of potential hazards before they dig.

“We’re proud to support the Corps of Engineers in bringing greater visibility and protection to areas that require special care,” said Chris Stovall, CEO of Line-Scape. “This partnership exemplifies how public and private sectors can work together to modernize infrastructure safety and prevent costly or dangerous incidents.”

Line-Scape’s platform transforms traditional one-call locate requests into actionable, map-based notifications with layered data that includes environmental and military site risk zones. The new FUDs alert system is now being piloted in selected regions, with plans for nationwide rollout in coordination with state 811 centers and federal partners.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers oversees thousands of FUDs across the country. This new collaboration helps meet mission objectives for both public safety and responsible redevelopment of these legacy military sites.
