The Lighting Controls Association (LCA), a council of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, has published a comprehensive update to its popular Education Express course, EE105: Lighting Control System Design.

A good lighting design requires a good lighting controls design, and because of this, good design practices and a disciplined approach are essential with lighting controls, particularly as lighting control systems become more inherently sophisticated to satisfy more complex requirements. Authored by C. Webster Marsh, CLCP, principal of Penumbra Controls, with contributions by Craig DiLouie, LC, CLCP, education director for the Lighting Controls Association, EE105: Lighting Control System Design provides detailed information about designing an effective lighting control solution, broken into three parts: Lighting Control System Intent, Planning and Coordination, and Installation and Post-Occupancy.

This course is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) and recognized by the National Council on Quality in the Lighting Professions (NCQLP). It is required reading to prepare for NALMCO’s Certified Lighting Controls Professional (CLCP) exam and recognized by the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) for advancing knowledge of networked lighting controls technology and application. The Lighting Controls Association is recognized by the State of California as a continuing education provider.

Residing at the Association’s website www.LightingControlsAssociation.org, Education Express provides in-depth education about lighting controls technology, application, energy codes, system design, and commissioning.
