How you start your day pretty much decides the mood you’ll have throughout! Every person wants to have a fresh start to their day, and if your bathroom feels somewhat like a small cave you’re crawling into, it doesn’t help much. Keeping the tone of your bathroom light is extremely important as that can freshen up your mind and help you make a great start. Moreover, light and airy decor can make your bathroom appear bigger and brighter.
Here are some intriguing ideas that’ll make your bathroom just as light and airy as you’d want your morning to be.
Use A Light Colour Palette
One of the easiest ways to make your bathroom seem spacious is to go for lighter shades and hues. When deciding on the colour of your wall or floor tiles, choose a light colour that is also bright in tone. These would include white, mint green, misty rose and beige, among others. Such tones compliment natural lights entering the bathroom and make the space look airy.
Incorporate More Mirrors To Let The Light Bounce
Having mirrors in any space automatically makes it seem larger than it is. We recommend adding a mirror wall in your bathroom. If there isn’t much space for that, you could add a significantly big-sized mirror in the shower space or over the basin. Adding lights behind the mirror also adds an attractive touch to the space.
Opt For Functional Flooring and Furniture That Looks Good
A flooring space, which is visible and not covered by furniture and other accessories, is one of the most important parts of a bathroom as it creates a sense of space. We understand that you would want to keep a lot of stuff in your washroom, but keep your sideboards and stands in a way that they don’t cover the flooring. They could be hung or mounted on the wall or have longer legs, which keeps the bottom spaces empty and exposed.
Create A Sense of Height by Tiling Up To The Ceiling
Tiling is one of the best options to choose for your bathroom spaces. When the bathroom is small, you could make the space seem bigger by tiling up the walls from the floor all the way up to the ceiling. Right bathroom tiles could make the space seem bigger and not make the wall messy. Tiling will also help make the space easy to clean and maintain.
Don’t Forget To Use Smart Lighting
Lighting plays a vital part when it comes to small areas. Putting a single dull light over the head or one on the sidewalls will just make the place look sadder. You could add a backlight to the mirrors, or bright lights right above the basin area. If you want the space to appear richer, you could even install a skylight.
Make It Glossy
When choosing wall tiles, or even floor tiles, for the bathroom, prefer going for ones which have a glossy finish. This helps in reflecting natural light from the windows and, hence, makes the space seem bigger than it is. However, if you are using glossy tiles on the floor, ensure they are not slippery.
Patterned Floors Can be Magical
Preferring patterns over simple flooring may be a key addition. This hack makes your flooring seem endless and larger than life. You could use patterned or designed tiles, lay it down in a uniform manner, and club it with simple yet elegant wall tiles to create an illusion of a larger space in tight quarters.
There are many ways in which you can achieve the bathroom of your dreams. You just have to know exactly what you want. Choose the right tiles, have the right approach and don’t aim for any shortcuts. One place that you can have your tiles sourced from is Orientbell Tiles. They have an amazing collection when it comes to spaces like a bathroom.
