KEYSTONE CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION AWARD WINNER

The Keystone Contractors Association recently awarded Alexander Senior Project Manager, Mike Sgriccia, with the inaugural KCA Top Young Leader Award. This award is bestowed upon emerging professionals from member companies who play critical roles in the community and professional areas of the construction industry. The announcement was made at an event Wednesday night at the Toftrees Club.
In the ten years Mike has been with Alexander, he has led the construction of fourteen projects totaling more than $182 million for some of Central Pennsylvania’s largest employers. His project experience includes a new dining facility at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, multiple projects for Mount Nittany Health including the Emergency Department Expansion, Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion and the Perioperative Services Expansion, as well as ongoing work at the second largest football stadium in the country, Penn State’s Beaver Stadium.
Mike’s value to the company and community extends beyond the buildings he has constructed as he is involved in many organizations where he shares his talents with others. He volunteers with Leadership Centre County and the United Way.
Mike earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He is certified OSHA 10 and OSHA 30, and is USGBC LEED® Accredited. Mike earned an ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate, demonstrating his understanding of the latest compliance issues and what owners, staff and patients expect of construction management professionals working in the healthcare environment. He is a member of the Construction Management Association of America, United States Green Building Council and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Builders Association of Central PA. He is a founding member of The Butz Family of Companies’ in-house Lean Committee that educates employees on the benefits of Lean construction techniques and teaches them how to use tools like The Last Planner System®.
“Mike is a leader at our company and in the industry. He is innovative, responsible and committed to our community. We are proud to have Mike on our team in a senior management role and honored he was the first person to receive the KCA Top Young Leader Award,” said Christopher Magent, General Manager State College and Business Development Director for The Butz Family of Companies.
