In this episode of Commercial Construction Coffee Talk, CCR Publisher/Editor David Corson sits down with Brian Thomas, President & COO of TrimJoist®, the company redefining floor system construction with its innovative trimmable, open-web design.
TrimJoist® combines the best features of a traditional open-web floor truss and a wood I-joist into one versatile solution that can be trimmed onsite for a perfect custom fit—eliminating the need for custom truss fabrication and simplifying installation for builders and remodelers.
Used by leading architects, engineers, contractors, and homebuilders, TrimJoist® products are engineered for strength, design flexibility, and superior support across residential and light commercial projects. Brian shares insight into:
1. How TrimJoist® technology improves structural performance.
2. Why designers and engineers prefer trimmable floor systems.
3. Installation advantages for contractors and field teams.
4. Trends driving innovation in wood floor framing.
5. How TrimJoist® streamlines project planning and reduces onsite rework.
If you’re in residential construction, light commercial, engineering, design, framing, or structural systems, this conversation gives a clear look at the future of floor systems.
