The exterior design for the planned new IKEA City Center Vienna Westbahnhof was modeled after the Sweden-based furniture retailer’s iconic shelving to provide fresh air and sunshine to each floor. The building was designed to fit into the surrounding urban neighborhood and, in addition to the store, will feature hostels and public spaces such as the rooftop garden. The Architect’s Newspaper
