A master plan proposed by Bayou Phoenix to redevelop Six Flags in New Orleans East is advancing with approval by the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority. The amusement park has been closed since Hurricane Katrina, but the new plans — which still need to be finalized — would spread over the site’s 227 acres with hotels, a water park, ball fields, movie studios and more.
