Safety continues to be a cultural priority at Harrison Contracting Company (HCC), and this week, the company is reinforcing that commitment with its Annual Safety Day 2025, happening on January 31. The event is designed to educate, engage, and inspire employees, subcontractors, and leadership with hands-on training, expert insights, and the latest in workplace safety. With over 400 attendees expected, including crew members, vendor partners, industry speakers, and first responders from the Villa Rica Fire and Police Departments, this year’s Safety Day promises to be one of the largest and most impactful yet.

A Tradition of Safety Focus

For over 2 decades, Safety Day has been a cornerstone of HCC’s culture, bringing together employees from all levels to focus on best practices, risk awareness, and new safety innovations. Extending across all HCC geographic divisions—including Georgia, Texas, and Florida—the event includes both administrative and field teams, reinforcing the company’s emphasis to safety as a foundational part of its identity.

“As we celebrate 30 years of business, we reflect on the dedication and diligence that have built our success and shaped our identity,” said Calvin Pate, CEO & Owner. “This year’s Safety Day brings together more than 400 employees and subcontractors to strengthen our commitment to safety and foster the connection and care that unites our team. It’s a valuable opportunity to refresh our knowledge of the safety practices that protect and support us all.”

The event serves as an intentional investment in the company’s safety awareness and capability, further solidifying HCC’s role as more than just a painting contractor, but a trusted partner in the industry.

Celebrating 30 Years of HCC’s Legacy

This year’s Safety Day is particularly special as it coincides with Harrison Contracting Company’s 30th anniversary. Founded on February 16, 1995, by Bill Harrison and his father, Deryl Harrison, HCC has built a strong reputation rooted in Image, Diligence, Responsibility, and an Uncompromising approach to excellence. Bill Harrison, who became president in 2000, worked alongside Calvin Pate to expand the company’s operations, with Chris Murphy later joining in 2008 to help lead multi-site repaint programs for top retail brands. In 2022, Calvin Pate and Chris Murphy took ownership of the company, ensuring the continued legacy of HCC’s values and commitment to quality service.

“This milestone is a testament to the dedication and passion of our incredible team—both past and present—whose hard work has built more than just projects,” said Chris Murphy, COO & Owner. “They’ve built lasting relationships and a reputation rooted in our core values: Image, Diligence, Responsibility, and being Uncompromising in everything we do. We’re deeply grateful to our clients and partners for their trust and loyalty, which have been the foundation of our success over the past 30 years. Together, we honor the contributions of everyone who has been part of this journey and look forward to continuing this legacy for decades to come.”
