GZA, a multi-disciplinary firm providing environmental, ecological, geotechnical, water and construction management services, today announced that Patrick McCarthy has joined the company’s Buffalo office as a Senior Project Manager.
McCarthy brings over 16 years of experience in permitting and regulatory compliance issues in the renewable energy, electrical transmission, and gas sectors to his role at GZA. He has extensive experience with federal, state and local permitting and approvals; environmental due diligence and regulatory compliance; and preparation of wetland and waterbody permit applications. In his role as Senior Project Manager McCarthy will be assisting clients with local, state and federal regulatory reviews and environmental permitting.
Prior to joining GZA, McCarthy was Director of Environmental Affairs and an Environmental Project Manager for Noble Environmental Power and Acciona Energy, North America. In these roles he was responsible for development support, project permitting, and operational compliance for over 1,000 MW of operating wind and solar energy projects throughout the United States. McCarthy has significant experience in complex and difficult permitting environments. Through close coordination with resource agencies, he has been able to successfully guide clients through complicated permitting regimes.
A resident of Alden NY, McCarthy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He is a member of the New York State Wetland Forum.
