Growth at Rack stores is a strength for Nordstrom

Nordstrom’s Rack division saw higher same-store sales and a jump in total revenue in the quarter ending Jan. 28, as online sales grew along with the rise in spending at the off-price stores, the company said Thursday. The growth offset a drop in same-store sales at the retailer’s full-line department stores, reflecting a larger trend that’s seen strong results for discount chains as department store retailers struggle.
