The law firm of Gardner, Brewer, Martinez-Monfort is pleased to announce the addition of noted real estate transactional and land-use attorney Robert H. Gidel Jr. to the firm’s growing practice.
The Tampa-based firm has quickly become the hub of land-use matters for some of the Southeast region’s most important litigation cases and most recognizable development projects. Among them: Skypoint, Element, Crescent Bayshore (“2 Bayshore”), Skyhouse, Oxford Exchange, “Carter Tower” on the Grant Block, the “Florida Crystals” apartments in the Channel District, Costco in Westchase, TD Bank and zoning and land use matters for Wawa locations throughout Florida.
“We are proud and thrilled to add Rob to our family,” said Truett Gardner, who founded the firm in Tampa with Steve Gardner, Christopher Brewer and Luis Martinez-Monfort. “Rob is a talented attorney who is highly active in the local and state-wide community, and we look forward to him contributing towards our firm’s continued growth.”
Gidel specializes in complex real estate and corporate transactions and land-use, including business counseling, zoning and governmental relations. He comes to the firm from the Tampa office of Holland & Knight.
Among his community roles, Gidel is a newly appointed member of the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission, helping review candidates for lifetime appointments to the federal bench on behalf of U.S. Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio, who appointed Gidel to serve this past June.
Gidel is immediate past president of the Tampa Bay Bergstrom Council, an organization that supports up-and-coming real estate professionals, and is previously a board member of the Tampa Downtown Partnership. He is also regional co-chair of Maverick PAC and a member of the Tampa Bay Board of Advisors to the James Madison Institute. Last autumn he was selected to participate in the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network.
“The team here has become the go-to law firm for projects that are changing the very skyline of this area,” Gidel said. “I’m honored to join this team as it rises to a new level in this region.”
