FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch company, is pleased to announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Casa Bel-Mar, a new affordable housing development in South Tampa. Designed by FK Architecture and developed by Archway Partners in collaboration with the Tampa Housing Authority and Signature Property Group, Casa Bel-Mar offers high-quality, affordable living options to families earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income. Construction on the four-story complex began in June 2023, with support from Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, and additional financial partners committed to bringing affordable housing to the Tampa Bay area.
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on January 28 at 10:00 a.m. at 4003 S Manhattan Ave, Tampa. Attendees will include special guests such as Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, along with representatives from the project’s partner organizations.
“Affordable housing is a pressing need in the Tampa Bay area, and Casa Bel-Mar reflects our commitment to addressing this demand with sustainable, thoughtfully designed living spaces,” said Kimberly Hellekson, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. “Our goal is to create spaces that are both functional and inspiring, enhancing community connection and quality of life for residents.”
Casa Bel-Mar features 100 units, with one- and two-bedroom floor plans, offering a range of community amenities, including a community center, library and tech lab, fitness center, and spaces for adult literacy programs and employment assistance. It’s the thoughtful and unique design elements that set Casa Bel-Mar apart; from the penthouse style corner units featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, to the custom artwork portrayed by the mural all built on the solid foundational relationship forged by the city and the church; “Our co-design initiative for creating a restorative interior environment will offer numerous tangible benefits. Specifically, the amenities at Casa Bel-Mar will serve the diverse needs of its residents. The sociophysical environment and resources available onsite will bring hope and a support system to those who have struggled with financial barriers. We’re honored to be a part of helping Archway Partners make a sustainable, lasting impression for individuals and families in the community,” said Jesy Acosta.
“At FK Architecture, our mission is to create spaces that residents can proudly call home,” said Ted Hunton, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. “We remain dedicated to affordable housing projects that bring positive change to communities, and Casa Bel-Mar stands as a testament to that commitment.”
