FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch company, is pleased to announce the grand opening of The Harmony at Ekos at Santa Barbara, an affordable housing complex the firm designed in southwest Florida. The Harmony at Ekos at Santa Barbara will provide housing to residents making between 33-80% of the area’s median income. The builders first broke ground in the spring of 2022.
The grand opening for the project, developed by McDowell Housing Partners and designed by FK Architecture was held on January 10.
“Creating a welcoming living space that everyone in the community can call home was a key goal of this project,” said Rajiv Ramakrishnan, Project Manager at FK Architecture. “We designed the housing complex to adequately serve the community and meet resident needs now and in the years to come.”
The Harmony at Ekos at Santa Barbara, located at 4600 Santa Barbara Boulevard, features 82 units, ranging in living spaces from one- to three-bedroom layouts. At least ten percent of the units among the two three-story concrete structures will be set aside for veterans, seniors, and those with special needs. The community also includes various amenities, including outdoor barbecues, playgrounds, a swimming pool deck, and a business center.
“One of our priorities at FK Architecture is to deliver secure, sustainable, and long-lasting designs for residents to enjoy. Affordable housing is a pressing issue in our nation, and we are proud to engage in projects that work towards addressing this issue,” said Ted Hunton, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. “Our commitment to providing viable, cost-effective housing solutions remains a priority.”
