FK Architecture is pleased to announce the groundbreaking ceremony on November 7, 2024, for Grand East Village, a $30 million affordable senior housing community located at 1199 Bruton Blvd, Orlando, FL, which the firm designed. The Grand East Village will include 92 affordable living units for seniors. The three-story, garden-style community will feature 69 one-bedroom and 23 two-bedroom units when completed. Communal amenities include pickleball courts, a fitness center, BBQ facilities, a dog park, a theater, Amazon Lockers, a community room, and a resort-style swimming pool.

Grand East Village is Housing Trust Group’s (HTG) first development in Orange County. The design and construction team includes general contractor BDI Construction, MEP and structural consultant JLC Engineering, interior designer V Starr, landscape architect Foster Conant & Associates, civil engineer EXO Limited, and MMR Consulting Services, Inc. “Relaxed, welcoming, and affordable senior living is needed in our area more than ever before,” said Ted Hunton, Managing Principal and Owner at FK Architecture. “Grand East Village will be a pioneering development that will change how people enjoy their retirement years. FK is proud to be a part of providing innovative and creative solutions to the housing issues facing Florida’s seniors.”

The community is scheduled to finish construction in late 2025

Georgia DOT joins 11 states requiring e-Ticketing in 2026

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has launched a statewide e-Ticketing initiative—starting in 2026, all contractors will be required to use e-Ticketing under Section 110 of GDOT specifications.
